Baron MINI invites you to understand why your vehicle ac is not working correctly.
Your car’s air-conditioner not working is likely caused by a failing compressor or a freon leak. While these are the obvious reasons that your air-conditioner isn’t cooling inside the vehicle, a bad compressor belt or a dirty cabin air filter may also be the culprit. No matter why or how, when you are expecting the sweet relief of cold air it is incredibly disappointing when it won’t turn on. Don’t sweat it though, because our experienced auto technicians will easily resolve these problems and are there to get your car ready long before the first heatwave arrives.
The most likely reason your AC isn’t cooling is your vehicle’s air-conditioning started leaking. The car’s air-conditioner system needs freon to cool the ambient air temperature and produces needed cold air. Anytime you want some refreshing cool air, it can’t happen when the freon leak happens. Another source that your AC isn’t blowing cold air is that your car is a hybrid. The air-conditioning system is powered by the engine, meaning your air-conditioner won’t be getting any power if your vehicle is in EV mode and the engine stops running.
If your AC is on but the fan isn’t working then there might be a blown AC fuse. Fuses protect components of a vehicle from a possible power surge and even though it may just need to be repaired, however, if the air-conditioning fuse continues to pop then you likely have a larger problem at hand. There’s also the possibility that the car’s AC Compressor is suffering from a low level of air-conditioning refrigerant or a possible leak that needs to be repaired.
If the air-conditioner starts leaking, you can tell by damp spots in your vehicle or puddles seen under your vehicle where it’s parked. When your air-conditioning is producing cold air into your vehicle, it has to displace all of that moisture it’s used from outside and should go through the evaporator drain pipe. This can also be caused by the AC Refrigerant level being too low which produces an overflow of condensation because the evaporator coils will freeze up. You should also keep a lookout for faulty seals in the air-conditioning compartment or the air-conditioner’s air filters just in case this problem keeps happening.
